15 A /15 J/ 15 M Round Robin Journal

Well, it's been so long since I worked in an actual journal, but in the meantime I've done a page for Rhelda as she didn't make her journal and we're creating loose pages instead...

Art and Soul- one of my website titles, and so me... art from the heart... such a cliche, lol!! Oh well, can't be helped- I am what I am!

I used a similar technique to those I've been playing with recently, but I didn't use gesso, so no heating and bubbling, I didn't think paper would be strong enough to cope.

I used several of my lino cuts to emboss cards and built them up with layers of colour. I also used acrylics, texture gel, sequins,tape, cut-outs, several types of pen/ marker and both oil and soft pastels. I really need to improve my text though, I still seem to mess a page up with bad writing...alot of it is because i struggle to find a pen that will write nicely over pastels... anyone got any suggestions?

Hope Rhelda likes it... I've also added it to the ongoing diary section which has all my pages in other journals, and others work in my journal... it's coming on now... nearly halfway though!

What a hoot!

I'm working in Rachel's 15+ journal, purple owl tree, and while I haven't finished the spread because I'm waiting for the texture gel to dry, I have been playing with the photos I took along the way... I don't want to spoil the suprise for Rachel until it's finished, so here's a taster instead...

Here's a mosaic version, courtesy of CS5... I might have to do this in glass... or painted eggshells work well too, especially for irregular shapes like these.

I've just joined in another Round Robin journal hosted over at Willowing. There are only 10 of us at the moment so it should go round quite quickly... I'm hedging my bets with another swap, seeing as my current journal has been with an artist for 3 months now without any recent contact, and while I'm all for hoping it's due to unforseen circumstances, I can't help but hold onto my ultra-pessimistic side and suppose I'll never see it again- or any of the lovely artwork I know has already been done in it...

So here goes round 2 of 2012... and my first spread...

Unlike my other RR's I haven't really done anything to the outside. As I made it I used gessoed canvas as the covering and I will paint it after it's back, once I've found a fitting image to match the contents.

I've loosely themed it Myth and Magic, but I imagine not everyone will like that so I'm expecting an eclectic mix.

So, here we go - round 2 of 2012, hope it goes round smoother than my current one.... can't wait to see it filled!!

15-15-15 +1 gets a new Blospot

Despite a stonking cold and migraine I've been plugging away in dribs and drabs so that the girls can chat away, friend up, and post work and link up on Facebook etc. I'm by no means a techie, hate this stuff really, but love things to match and look right.
